ColCap Connects with Community Through Cricket Sponsorship Expansion

By Dresdain BalangueOctober 8, 2025No Comments

ColCap Financial Limited’s (“ColCap”) retail lending business Homestar Finance, which provides residential housing finance in Australia, has expanded its sponsorship of cricket club Sydney Thunder to the Women’s Big Bash Leage (WBBL) team.

Homestar, which is entering an eighth year sponsoring Sydney Thunder’s Men’s BBL team, has taken a new opportunity to become Principal Partner of Sydney Thunder’s Women’s team for the upcoming WBBL season.

The partnership will see ColCap further expanding its engagement with and support for cricket and community, particularly in the mortgage belt of Western Sydney, and backing the WBBL team as they take the field to inspire a new generation of fans.

We’re thrilled to have an opportunity to upgrade our partnership with the WBBL team. With stars like 22-year-old captain Phoebe Litchfield due to be at the crease, we’re looking forward to supporting potential and the future of women’s cricket.

General Manager of Sydney Thunder, Trent Copeland, welcomed Homestar’s expanded commitment, marking a new chapter in the long-standing partnership.

Having Homestar Finance as Principal Partner across both our WBBL and BBL teams is a proud moment for Sydney Thunder, their support goes far beyond the logo on our shirts.

It reflects a shared commitment to supporting our players on and off the field, growing the game and inspiring a lifelong love of Thunder across Western Sydney. We’re grateful to partner with an organisation that genuinely cares and shares our vision for what sport can do.

Homestar is a part of a 360+ strong global corporate team at ColCap where 55% of positions are filled by women. Women are represented at all levels of the business, from the board’s chairman, right through to the executive leadership team and staff.

This is a natural part of how we operate as a business, because we hire where we see talent and potential; we think it’s a big asset for us in home lending, and we’re proud to be helping with stronger all-round support for the growth of women’s cricket.

Homestar will be on the ground engaging with Sydney Thunder fans at all WBBL and BBL home games throughout the 2025/26 season. This will include hosting an oversized cricket ball challenge for kids attending games from local community cricket clubs.

“ColCap, through Homestar, is proud to stand behind the Sydney Thunder squad, while supporting the game’s future through grassroots cricket; we’re committed to building strong foundations for the game, driving positive change, while celebrating every win,” Andrew Chepul.
